Volunteer
The volunteers at the Church of Light are the heart of the church because they are giving their time and talents. It is an opportunity to be an active part of the Church of Light.
We have the following ministries:
Greeters [Team Leader - Grace Mills]
These are the first impressions of love and welcome. Greeters stand at the door ready to greet people with a loving smile and when so moved, a hug. What a way to start out the morning. They will also do the collection.
Music [Team Leader - Michelle Monti]
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord! There is an opening for sharing your talent as we form a choir or feature you as a solo. Talented as a musician? May be heading the music department is your gift.
Sunday School [Team Leader - Lawrence Toliver]
One of the most important ministries is being a Sunday School teacher. It is where you will learn the most. The children are so honest and free of limitation. They help to keep us on the path. Lessons are provided and a teen will work with you.
The Church of Light has a very active Junior Church where our children are being supported as the spiritual beings that they are. Our children's ages range from five to
twelve years of age. We are blessed to have them and our dedicated teachers. Please come and join us. It is a lot of fun.
Teen Group [Team Leader - Michelle Moore]
Our teens actively serve throughout the service assisting in Sunday School, ushering and
recording church services. We meet once a month after service and plan community
service, trips and share what's happening in our lives. If you are a teen looking for God
in a new and practical way, come join us.
Welcome Table
Carrying the box of materials to and from the church and setting up on Sunday morning.
Announcements [Team Leader - Saundra Thomas]
If you have the kind of personality that loves to get up before an audience then announcements may be just right for you.
Readers [Team Leader - Xonna Clark]
Readers choose something from Science of Mind text, Creative Thought or any of
Ernest Holmes' works to share. It should be 1-2 minutes in length. If a reader finds
some other work that is in line with our teaching they share it with Xonna or
Rev. Claire. This is also a great spot for poetry.
All volunteers are asked to arrive by 10AM on the Sunday you are to serve. The
positions are rotated and training is provided where needed.
